I'm just so speechless right now. I actually found out last night and could hardly sleep from the excitement, so it's no wonder these pretty, hard-earned banners were the first things I thought of upon waking. I'm on cloud 9 :)

A huge thank you to everyone who helped me pound these out. I'd list you but I don't want to forget anyone, and you know who you are anyways—the betas, cheerleaders, plotters—thank you all so much ♥

As usual, I'm entered in this month's round but I won't tell which ones mine!

The long wait has finally come to an end. Phase 2 posting is complete, and the hardest part (for me) has come: nominations.

We have until October 10th midnight Central time to submit our nominations, so there's still time to squeeze in those last few reads. So go on! What are you waiting for? READ AND NOMINATE :D

Isn't this the most adorable banner?

blackestfaery: (Misc - OMG! ONOZ!)
The nomination period over at [livejournal.com profile] dramione_awards has finished, and it's now time to vote for your favourites. I've had the extreme honour of being nominated in three different categories, but I encourage everyone to vote for all categories.

Not only will you help the awards, but who knows? Maybe you'll discover a new author along the way. I know I have during the nomination phase :D

And now, for some pretty, beautiful, shiny pimpage:

You have until October 7th to vote, so why not do one category a day?

Just in case anyone was interested, I wrote something for [livejournal.com profile] dramionedrabble's current prompt: Road Not Taken. It'll eventually get posted to [livejournal.com profile] aghast and other places, but for now, you can read it there.

Yaaay. I still have a love-hate relationship with drabbles, but currently, it's all love :)

Didn't place this month, but that's okay. I did get all emo on this because I struggled so much with it, prompting the I fail at fandom post. Thanks again for all the encouragement ♥

Set in an altered 6th year time line. Dumbledore and his inter-house unity attempts have given Draco one last look at what could be. Too bad it didn't change the outcome.

This is a slightly altered version of the one that I submitted to [livejournal.com profile] dmhgchallenge because I realized that adult Muggles wouldn't be on the wizard side of Kings Cross. Other than that, it's the same. Set in 7th year, Christmas holidays. The last few moments before Draco and Hermione part ways.

So I just finished the second and last round of friend/community cuts this morning. This was decidedly more painful than the first round because I had to let go of things that I was holding on to simply because of how much I had—and I cringe at admitting it now—emotionally invested in it.

I think I've pared my list down to the people I still talk to, people who still talk to me, or people who I still share interests with.

And I should be able to leave it at that, but this is the internet and without the benefit of actually speaking to each other, I think an explanation is best.

First. This isn't about:

- being elitist
- cutting out of spite because I never hear from people

I never tried for being popular or having the largest flist. Joining livejournal for me was to find people with similar interests and to read fanfiction. I've been around enough fandoms to understand that people move on to other interests, old fandoms get dropped, and yes, let's adress the elephant in the room: friends get dropped as well. It sucks when it happens but it does, but if I let that bother me, then I'm taking fandom way 2SRSLY.

I've been cut before and dislike the idea (or perhaps just the term) of "cutting" friends; it's so...harsh. But with my resolution to better reply to people's posts comes the need to be able to actually see them first.

So, please, no hard feelings. And you're more than welcome to take me off your list as well.

All the best,
Char
